“Susie showed me that working on the single most terrifying incident of my whole life was ok, it was doable, it was fixable. It wasn't too scary that I had to block it out, I could bring it up to the surface and I was strong enough to heal it. I felt empowered knowing that I could deal with that stuff. That was so powerful, really a life-changer.” Jamie, aged 39

Mindful Trauma Therapy and Counselling in Newcastle upon Tyne:
to help free you from the impacts of PTSD
to help free you from the impacts of PTSD
PTSD happens after an event that was too traumatic for your body, mind or emotions to process at the time it happened. This is why one of the major symptoms of PTSD is the involuntary re-experiencing of the traumatic event. This is your subconscious mind's attempt to process what happened to you, but often it remains unable to do so. You may therefore need guided support to be able to process the event in a safe and helpful way. I can help you create a safe space and find within yourself the support to voluntarily and safely go back into the trauma memory and fully process it. This will involve healing your nervous system, your physical body's memory and your psychological memory. Your nervous system will be free to come out of the survival "fight, flight or freeze mode" that it went into to get you through the original threatening experience. This mindfulness-based process empowers you to resolve the trauma and move on in your life.
